    Uniqlo Handouts at Hanami

So we spent a sizable portion of our Sunday afternoon at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's cherry blossom festival—totally awesome, even if they did make the bizarre decision of plopping down these super-ugly tents right in the middle of the cherry trees. Anyway: two amazing things. 1: DJ Jaiku Suzuki, "spinning 70s and 80s Japanese pop and rock," and she was totally, unbelievably awesome, and 2: this guy at the door handing out these Uniqlo posters. We totally want to be buying the Uniqlo t-shirts right now. Targeted marketing! Totally successful.

Three Exciting Tote Bags From YesStyle.com

Er, maybe exciting goes to far, but we quite like all of them, and they are at least new to us. Because everything from yesstyle.com is from Asia, and we have never been there. Ergo, newness. (Again, at least to us.) And these are specifically all Japanese brands, just because we are so excited about Rootote and ... Asia, being a continent and all, is quite big, and much too big to just be like 'blerg, bags from Asia.' Er, you know what we mean. Summer malaise, we're thinking.

Anyway: We like basically everything Rootote has ever made, but this is one of our favorites. All $15 tote bags should be so ... rainbow-y. Rootote tote, $15

Really, we just like this because it's like ... not another bird print, we're thinking. Buden Akindo bag, $22

Again. Just slightly not-everything-else-we've-seen. Aya Ori bag, $25
