Monograms Make a Comeback
Reader mail! Reader mail! We love it . We are trying so hard to limit our shopping and spending, so we looooooove when we can help our lovely readers find what they're looking for. And our bank account thanks you, too. Send us more here!
Dear LB,
I am a true southern girl, and therefore LOVE anything monogrammed. I am thinking of christmas wishlist items and want to ask for something unique. I saw a friend's monogrammed sweater and want one equally chic. Where can I find an equally cute (or CUTER) jacket? Thanks!
Love,
Southern Fashionista
Ok, we admit it. We're stumped. We just spent the last little while looking and came up with nothing. We're calling out to our readers to help SF here - we're at a loss!

J.Crew can monogram the crap out of everything... keep an eye out for a jacket you like and have them do it for you!

J Crew was my first thought too, this is a tough one! You say monogramming, I think Potterybarn.

oh my, every town has an embroidery shop...and they'll be incredibly cheap & have loads of options. so, just buy the sweater you want, and google "embroidery" and your zip code. you'll have exactly what you want because you can choose placement, style, etc.

I thought of J.Crew too.

Also, Ralph Lauren:

Pottery Barn will monogram a variety of things. They do house stuff as well as linens, tote bags, robes.
Also, Brooks Brothers:

Interestingly, I was watching the Godfather this weekend and noticed the monogrammed sheets for the first time. Moments before the opposing family shot the bejesus out of the bedroom in Nevada. Truly every time i watch that movie i notice something new.
I second (or fourth) the JCrew suggestion! On the site, there is a section called "The Monogram Shop" makes it easy-peasy.

Is a picture of the inspiration jacket.
I like the Jcrew ones but they seem to be pretty light sweaters and kind of expensive.
I like the Ralph Lauren one a lot, because it shows you the different monogram options but all I see are for polos and the "sale section" so no sweaters. Does anyone know if you can get monograms on other RL items?
Thanks for the feedback!!

probably not quite as helpful but just got an email from Neiman Marcus advertising that they personalise & monogram, uh, lots of things. Free ship with code NMSHIP, too. Okay, it might be pricey (*might*? whom am I kidding?) but perhaps it could offer up some ideas?) Your best bet is probably an embroidery/monogram/personalization shop as shoppingsmycardio said. they hang out in malls, sometimes. bring the sweater/jacket of your choice over & they could do it. good luck in your quest, SF! :)

TBH, it'd be way cheaper to buy something you like, then go get it monogrammed at a place that does embroidery. There's a ton in every town. Just look through your yellow pages.
