One Question For Corey Lynn Calter

We’ve loved Corey Lynn Calter’s dresses ever since we saw one at Dear Fieldbinder, one of our favorite boutiques in Brooklyn. We wrote about the line here—and decided we were so besotted with the line that we wanted her to be part of our mini-interview series, One Question For…. (It’s sort of an extremely low concept version of, like, that Zach Galifianakis thing with the ferns.)

Our question was:
If you could dress anyone in history, who would it be? Either a specific person or a specific type (a Mod in 1963 London, that sort of thing).

And Corey Lynn Calter’s answer:

The ultimate style icon to me is Sharon Tate. Her casual, bohemian elegance is  quintessential 1960′s California and her spectacular beauty is so timeless. She had such a sweet and childlike quality to her while oozing chicness and sexuality. I refer to her quite a lot while designing because of her effortless sense of fashion, I truly think she personified 1960′s glamour.

The CLC dress above is similar to one currently on sale—non-strapless, which we love. The Mia smocked dress, was $257, now $231

And below, a few more of our favorites from Corey Lynn Calter’s summer line. We are so happy she answered our question—find her on Twitter, and like them on Facebook. (Us, too, if you will!)
