BS Hearts: Everything From Korres
We realized we’ve been doing more beauty posts than usual—this, we think, is because we don’t want to think about wearing anything beyond a bikini, or eating anything heavier than, say, that Low-Fat Granola cereal. (Or ice cream. Or the two Amy’s enchiladas we just had. Apparently this part of the equation is flexible.)
We go into Sephora because they have better air conditioning than our apartment, and while there, we’ve been thinking that Korres is becoming our favorite beauty brand. This is due in no small part to their primer, above. We started wearing sunscreen more regularly this spring—which led, in turn, to the most massive break-out we’ve experienced since seventh grade, which led, in turn, to our wearing massive amounts of foundation, which we don’t normally do—because it just looks too heavy on us. Primer, we remembered, is where it’s at—a good one will even skin tone and reduce pore size. This one just feels awesome when you put it on. We traded the foundation for this, and a nose-powder (where our pores are massive, like lunar crater massive), and we were happy again. Korres face primer, $28
Next: We love—just love—this product. Usually we won’t forgive lip glosses that come off too quickly. This one is the exception—which is to say, it comes off about 10 minutes after application, but we love the colors so much that we forgive it. (And we do not forgive easily!) They’re fairly cheap: $10 each. And! This limited-edition three-pack is $19.50—with pomegranate (love), guava (clear—meh), and mango, which we haven’t tried. It’s better than two for one! You know, with some very flexible math. Korres limited-edition three-pack, $19.50

I would also vouch for Korres, which I found in a quest to get the nasty chemicals out of my beauty products. I have very dry skin and liked the Milk Proteins 3 in 1 Cleansing Emulsion which you can use without water but I did use water because it was too weird not to. The body butters are great as well – I favor Quince and Guava as they are lightly scented but not overpowering. Fig – not so much. Their moisturizers are expensive but excellent! And everything I have tried has smelled lovely.

Do you like the Korres primer better than Smashbox photofinish primer? I’m trying to decide which one to buy.
