I have a few fav. summer recipes. They are easy!

Berry Lemonade:
Put 1 Cup Frozen strawberries in a blender with 16 oz of organic lemonade. Perfect for a hot day. Blueberries, raspberries or a berry mixture can also be used.

Mexican Guacamole: learned this recipe in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

2 medium avocado
1/4 yellow onion (cut into small pieces)
1 Roma tomato (cut into small pieces)
juice from 1/2 or 1 lime (to taste)
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 a cup of chopped fresh cilantro (to taste)

1.) Mash the avocado with a fork
2.) Mix in the onions, tomatoes, and half of the cilantro
3.) Add a little salt, pepper, and lime juice.
4.) See how it tastes, and keep adding more salt, pepper and lime juice until the guacamole tastes good to you.
5.) Throw the pit from the guacamole into the dip… the seed miraculously keeps the guacamole from turning brown.

Outlook- OH GOD THIS IS THE WORST NEWS EVER. We will reveal that we have eaten two of the 20 worst foods in America. In the last 24 hours. Argh. We love dog-sitting in the suburbs, but we need to get back to our walkable city.

- And! $400 off! We just got this sale bulletin from D.:

these frye boots are super cute and marked down from $470.00 to $71.99 (honestly, I have no idea why they’re so cheap) and there is a size 6, 7, and 8 left. I’m an 8.5 and so, i’m out of luck, but someone MUST have these boots, especially at this price. i hope i’m not the only one who thinks these boots are awesome.

We also think they’re awesome! We are also an 8.5. So hopefully someone else will enjoy. We’re going outside to walk two or nine miles.

We like our jeans best when they’re $140 off. Click here for the sale item of the day

Because we have been thinking:
"We really need something where we can give out stars!"

Beauty product: Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer

What Sephora says its does: "Light up your look from lids to lips, cheeks to collarbones, with this lightweight way to add flirty sheen and luminosity to the skin. This Liquid Luminizer allows for added application control and will last longer than traditional powder or cream shimmers. The glass bottle has a built in brush for mess-proof application."

What we think: Let us begin by saying the part about "mess-proof" is just, we swear, completely false. We may act like an eight-year-old in public, but we are not so wedded to that role that we want to walk out of Sephora covered in luminizer, whatever that is, but that is exactly what we did. This shit got everywhere. And as far as the luminizing is concerned: A., we fail to recognize "luminizer" as  word. B., it just looked like glitter-face. Maybe we need to use a lot less, and be much more tactical about where we applied it, but. Still. Glitter-face. We’re not sold, figuratively or literally. And we love Stila, so this was a bit of a disappointment.

Stars(!): * *. Eh. We want to be luminized, but this wasn’t the product to do it for us. Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid Luminizer, $22

We generally do not buy art. It’s so complex, what with the editions and numbers and lithos and prints and canvasses and repros. In our house, we’ve hung silkscreened show posters, a Shephard Fairey print, and some of our own work. Oh, and a couple Pennsylvania Deutch hexes.  That’s it, really. Most art we see is either way too out there for us, or just too expensive. And while we’re not snobby about much, we don’t really like posters.

We were pleasantly surprised when we came across these photos from Jim Lloyd. The imagery itself is captivating, and even a little sneaky. It’s super, super affordable – which means we can splurge and frame it in a massive goldtone frame.

We have to admit, we kind of love the Marc Jacobs bag in this one.

Anyway. We’re all over these.

Img_0001We loooove this Chloe Sevigny for Uniqlo ad—we don’t write about Uniqlo much, just because there’s only one store in the US, in NYC, and they don’t do much online. But if you’re anywhere near it, we totally recommend it: Their new, limited-edition t-shirts (one of which is worn by CS here) are awesome. (There are some available on eBay.)

When is Big Love back on? (That was rhetorically, but we just checked the HBO website and all it’s offering is the sadly vague "new episodes in production" etc.)

When we pour Diet Coke on the lawn, we feel like we are killing the grass, so it is time that we attempt to give up the DC—at least for the two weeks recommended by Oprah and Dr. Oz. (Apparently our cult leaders.) The last time we gave up Diet Coke—after we chipped a tooth and blamed our dental weakness on it—we had such a terrible headache by 2 p.m. we gave up and never looked back. We have a delicious mango Odwalla in the fridge, Starbucks caffeine planned for the morning—and we’re going to see how far we make it. We’ve also sworn to get through our surya namaskar 12 of the next 14 days. We’re kind of curious and psyched to see where we’ll be by the 12th.

Generally we are completely anti-giving things up, in that "We’re giving up Diet Coke way" because at least for us, doing that just makes us totally fixate, whereas when we just sort of replace our bad habit with a good one (say, if we pledged to start drinking a gallon of orange juice every day), we find we have better, non-obsessive results. We’re ready to give this a go, though, and interested to see if the anecdotal weight loss we’ve been told about will hold true as well. We’ll keep you posted! And we’d love to hear from anyone out there who’s made a similar move.

FilestreamThis week’s discount continues: 20% off anything at Alternative  with discount code "bunnyshop": We are totally into this tank top and that low scoop neck. And strangely this photo makes us want to buy green pants. We will probably get over that.
