Oh! We have an answer to this, and it is: purple liquid eyeliner. We totally defend it! They even used it on What Not To Wear. Green eyes, purple eyeliner, lots of Fibrewig mascara. It all comes together. We mentioned how we were practically stood up in Sephora recently, and had to kill 45 minutes there, aggravating the entire sales staff and covering our face in make-up. When our friend finally (finally) showed up, she was all, "I love your lipstick, you need to buy that, etc etc," and we were like, Don’t you like our eyeliner? And she was like, No. Eh. We persist.

Who else has an off-the-beaten path product to recommend?

So we’re not sure who else was like, Am I really watching the finale of Celebrity Apprentice? last night. But if we were the only ones (we’re assuming we were, in fact, the only ones), then everyone missed Trace Adkins sing this song (which is YouTubed above, but please ignore the actual video part of the video, which obviously we do not endorse). We’re not like the number one country music fans in the world, but we find it mind-boggling that there’s so much interesting storytelling going on in hip hop and country (and has been, for years) and yet everything we hear on the radio is so absolutely, like, ‘Ride up on my ass shake blah blah blah.’

We have totally wanted one of these since we saw them in Opening Ceremony a couple weeks ago. And now: 70% off! (If we’re doing our math right.) Which makes up for the fact of how dirty we’re going to get it in about a day and a half.

Yellow Bags!

We are having just a ridiculously difficult time finding yellow bags we like under $200. That is so wrong. This bag, for example, is great, but it not under $200. Francesco Biasia suede handbag, $428

This is under $200, but it’s only a clutch, so by area, we’re not really on the right track. Though we do like it. Topshop yellow patent clutch, about $60

And this would be our favorite airplane carry-on ever, especially considering that we had to leave our former one at the leather repair shop so long we’re pretty sure they’re not giving it back. Anthro mustard carry-all, $378

We do really like this, but we wish the straps were a color other than the one they are. Tano handbag, $240

Mm! Frustrating, but we will persist.

We are not usually so wild for the Gwen Stefani fashion empire, but we think this is adorable. And half off! Which makes it definitely much more so. Suze Orman would not approve.

That said, about the not-being-wild, we don’t know how any can object to Gwen Stefani, in general. She is such a superior alternative to the Paris\Lindsay\Britney\etc. There’s something self-made about her we totally dig. And we definitely do not use that word lightly.

Ooh, we are so mad that stupid Typepad just erased our post. Anyway, in today’s Reader Mail:

Well. We held on to this question until it was and actually, until we had a suitable springtime-y contest—which we do! We have one extremely fabulous bottle of Ralph Wild to give away, and we’re going to give it to the person who comments the best American style icon—Ralph Lauren, American style icon, you see the connection. We actually sort of love their website because the video footage has images of Route 27 signs, which was our way to the Hamptons before we decided to drop out of society and go to art school. (Oh! Hamptons goodness!) It has "wild strawberries and watermelon," which we’re thinking should make it super appropriate for summer, the best of all possible seasons.

To play: Just comment your favorite American style icon by Sunday. Anyone who says Mischa Barton or similar will be disqualified. And of course, there are only so many, so we’ll be choosing our winner based on whatever you can say about why you think X should be the official American Bunnyshop Style Icon.
