So everyone understands that we don’t feel like Old Navy defines style, right? Ok, excellent. It sucks that we feel like we have to mention that, but as long as they sell performance fleece and puffy vests, we will have to say that. Honestly, a vest. Because your arms are really hot but man, your torso is cold? Seriously?
Now that we’re all on the same page, we feel we should mention the Old Navy outerwear sale. It’s 40% off all outerwear, which we think is pretty awesome. We actually went back and bought the toggle coat shown above that we’d been hemming and hawwing about. And honestly, we’re really happy we did. We own several coats, but nothing for this time of year. Or, more appropriately, nothing practical for this time of year. We have a yellow lightweight coat, a cream leather jacket that is 2 sizes too big (it’s honestly beautiful, and it was one of the most generous gifts we’ve ever received), 2 parkas, and a slim cut jacket that doesn’t have pockets.
Frankly, we need pockets. And we are tired of zippers and buttons. This toggle coat – snaps, toggles and pockets. And a fun lining! And hey, it’s actually warm. It made us a bit poor to buy it, but we’re glad we did.
Toggle coat, was $98, now $58.80

We think this is really cute, and probably very warm. It’s got the snow cuffs so you don’t get snow all up in your arm when you, er, stick your arm into the snow, it’s got pockets, and the chest detailing (hopefully not ugly in person) is a nice change from the really typical tech jackets we see. We have to say, we also really like that it’s fake fur. And it’s like $41. We spent more on lunch today.
Bomber jacket, was $68, now $40.80
There were some additional styles that are oddly shown in the lifestyle shots on the website, but not available to buy. We remember a longer, wool car coat that’s definitely worth checking out. For 40% off, it’s worth having a jacket in case your good one is at the cleaner’s, or wet, or stolen by your sister.

Oh, I like puffy vests. For some reason, they work really well in the south, like when its cool but not cold and you just need a little something to hold in your body heat. And I think they look cute!
Actually, performance fleece works well in the kind of weather we have this time of year too. But I don’t claim its stylish- I wear my fleece jacket over my PJ’s when I’m walking the dogs at 6am.
Stylish, No but definitely practical.
oh, this diva la, la loves that bomber. was it available at old navy online? it would look too cute with my ski leggings (from last year- shhh, don’t tell anyone). nonetheless, a great deal!
Yikes Ladies (and Lads) – The toggles come loose QUITE easily. give them a reinforcing stitch before you wear anything with a toggle out
